About GDS

An intimate experience
built for women

Girl Dinner Social started in 2024 — a space for women in Chicago to find real friends.

Two years and dozens of dinner parties, coffee socials, and pottery nights later: strangers walk in, friends walk out.

Now we're building the first social platform made only for women. Shaped by our own search for friendship, and by years of hosting the room ourselves. Built so connection actually lands offline — and the friendships that start at one event keep going long after it ends.

The app

Coming late summer 2026

Most apps are built for swiping. We're building for the way friendships actually form — through what you love, who's already there, and what happens after the event ends.

01
Through shared interests

Find women through what you love — pilates, books, pottery, runs. The friendships that start over something you both actually care about.

02
Through real-life gatherings

Curated runs, dinners, workshops, classes, and meetups. RSVP, show up, and stay connected with the women you actually clicked with.

03
Through community

Ask GDS for the recs only women would tell you — the salon that actually listens, the doctor who takes you seriously, the spots worth your Saturday.

For organizers

Built for the
women who
host the room

If you're already organizing dinners, runs, or gatherings — GDS gives you the infrastructure. Reach the right women, fill your events, and build a community around what you're already doing.

Whether you host once a month or every weekend, the app is designed to grow with you.

Questions

The questions
we hear most

Women in Chicago who want real friendships — not networking, not dating. New to the city, new chapter of life, or just noticing the group chat got quieter? This is for you.
For now, yes. We're proving it works in one city before expanding. If you're somewhere else, join the waitlist anyway — that's how we decide where to go next.
Yes — and we're inclusive about what that means. GDS is a women's community, including trans women and non-binary folks who feel at home in women's spaces. Membership is based on self-identification. We're a women's space because that's the friendship gap women keep telling us they experience. The focus is what makes it work.
Every account is verified by selfie liveness check and phone at signup. Event attendees add a second layer; hosts complete a short video interview. Verification confirms you're a real human matching your photos.
Book tickets directly on the Events page — no app required. Once the app launches, every event lives inside it, with group chats, attendee discovery, and the connections that happen after the night ends.
No. We're building it as home for women-founded communities across Chicago — a single place to find dinners, runs, classes, and gatherings worth showing up to. Have a community you love? Send them our way.
If you're already hosting dinners, runs, or workshops for women, GDS gives you the infrastructure to do it better: event listings, ticketing, attendee messaging, and the group chats that turn first-timers into regulars. Book a demo and we'll walk you through it.
GDS is free, with access to every feature. Premium is optional, never required. Event tickets are priced and handled by the host.
BFF matches anyone. GDS is built only for women — small groups, verified members, real-life events. Less swiping. More showing up.
Eventbrite, Luma, and Partiful are ticketing tools — sell a ticket, disappear. GDS is a community that shows up before the door opens and stays after it closes. Curated, women-only, and built for what happens after the event ends.
